I Love My Job

I really do...some days are better than others, but overall, I really enjoy what I do. I love all the animals and getting to help the doctors make them better, or bring them into this world or just giving them a good clean bill of health is really fulfilling for me. Sometime I actually get to bring my job home!! Sometimes...

Here is a picture of me with a 6 hour old boxer puppy. Her mother was in distress and unable to deliver her babies. We had to do an emergency c-section to try and save the babies. Unfortunately only a couple of the pups made it, but this little beauty is one of them!! I got to bring her home and feed her and nurse her while mom recuperated from her surgery that day.

The cast of characters at our clinic is precious. We have two clinic cats. They are Camille, our elderly lady of elegance and beauty and Lizzie, the younger more, "spirited" feline. Camille spends her day lounging around in the sun on her special bench. She is a wonderful quite cat who will sneak outside if she gets half a second to do so...

Now, Lizzie is beautiful and she knows it...

Sometimes the doctors bring in their pets. On this day the greyhounds came in. Farah and McCall. I ADORE these dogs. They are the best ever...I just absolutely love them. They are very well trained and sooooo sweet!!!

Of course we have a few animals that need a really good home and Ivy is a good example of one. She is a wonderful cat that was brought to us as an emergency. She was hit by one car then by a second. The third car pulled over and the driver picked her up and rushed her to us. She was very badly injured, but we were able to save her!!! She has a badly broken leg and we may have to remove it, but she will be just fine. AND, she will make some lucky human a wonderful loving pet. She has the will of a fighter and the heart of an angel to survive what she endured, and she is determined to find that perfect home!!!
